This morning I went with a friend to do a tasting for her son’s Bar Mitzvah Kiddish luncheon at THE best breakfast restaurant in Austin–Kerby Lane Cafe. Joy is defined as, “the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation.”  In Hebrew a similar word of joy and elation is Simcha!  Which is why we often refer to beautiful times in our lives such as births, Bar and Bat Mitzvah and weddings as simcha(s)!
