Leah & Grant met through mutual friends at the beach during summer vacation from college.
Grant tells us of the proposal
I crawled out of bed early on a morning that we were going to sleep in and turned on the lamp. I was greeted with a groan from Leah, turned on soft music and knelt beside the bed with the ring.”
Our favorite Modern Jewish Details include bubbes & zayedes saying the blessing over the challah. (You might remember from our magazine about challah and grandpas?) We’re also quite fond of the couple placing their new home (AKA chuppah) over the cake table for the reception.
Leah’s favorite part of the wedding?
Aside from having a photo booth for the guests during the reception, we wanted to venture outside the typical bridal party pictures and have a little fun with our friends before getting swept away by our families. So after the traditional group photos, we surprised everyone with an impromptu Nerf gun shootout: we spent five unadulterated minutes shooting, dodging and scrambling for ammo, and shooting again. The brave photographers eluded countless rounds of foam to get great photos of the dart fight. Though the crossfire resulted in an estimated several dollars of property damage but everyone walked away unscathed!”
