‘Tis the Chrismukkah season, and while we’re all recovering from that holiday sugar high, we’re also looking back on our favorite weddings of the year. First up, we embraced all things boho-chic with an outdoor interfaith wedding, and today we’re headed to the scenic mountains of central Colorado.
Jeremy and Ken’s military love story captured our hearts in an unforgettable way and their mountainside wedding was the perfect celebration. One peek and we’re pretty certain you’ll leave utterly inspired too.
The Modern Jewish Wedding Details
After serving together on three military tours, Jeremy and Ken knew exactly what they wanted when it came to planning their Colorado nuptials. The wedding day needed to reflect their commitment to their country, their Jewish religion, and their love for not just one another, but all of those they hold dear to them.
Both grooms work in the foreign service but they chose to return to their stateside home base, letting the mountain landscape play backdrop to their big day. Read on for more from Jeremy and Ken, including how they incorporated their patriotism throughout the wedding details.
Words from the grooms:
We met in Washington, DC back in 2009. Jeremy was entering the foreign service after serving with the Navy and Ken decided to join the foreign service since they both wanted to serve the country abroad. We met with rabbis before working on the development of our relationship and celebrating our Judaism together has brought a deeper connection between us.
We have served on three tours together and chose Colorado as our home base for the beauty of the mountains, where we own a home and also the location for the wedding. Being in the mountains was an important element, and the Meadow Creek Lodge and Event Center served as the perfect backdrop for a more intimate affair.
Jeremy’s childhood cantor from Boston was flown in to officiate, and following a very emotional and heartfelt ceremony, guests were treated to a wonderful dinner by Relish Catering and Events, the jams of ShinDig DJs, beautiful and masculine florals by Bella Calla, and rentals by Colorado Party Rentals. Ali and Garrett Photography captured the story, and the entire day was a special and wonderful affair, meticulously planned by Mark Christopher Weddings and Events.
