I love a celebration that’s not afraid of a little bright color and that’s exactly the kind of modern Jewish wedding we’re diving into today. It’s an “I do” filled with personality, plus the cutest madly-in-love couple at the center of it all.
In the words of their photographer, Delaney Dobson:
“Joelle and Amiad, two wonderful young lovebirds with large and lively families, danced and sang pretty much the entire time I photographed their wedding. While Amiad practiced his love ballad to Joelle in the next room, the bride read a beautiful letter from her groom, written in a notebook, where he has written pages of love letters to her over the years of dating. She then dressed in her gown and grabbed her beautiful bouquet made entirely of brooches and pins from both Amiad and her own grandmothers.”
The couple planned their first look on a rooftop overlooking the NYC skyline for a breathtaking moment they’ll always treasure. Following a portrait session, they began the traditional Bedeken and Groom’s Tisch ceremonies inside their venue. With family dancing and singing around them, they fully embraced Jewish wedding tradition before heading to the public ceremony under the chuppah.
Dressed up with florals, branches and no shortage of color, their handmade chuppah perfectly fit the theme of their summer day. Once they were officially pronounced husband and wife and glass was broken, the couple led their guests to a reception filled with music, singing, dancing, skits, and even a choreographed dance in superhero costumes.
