Sooooooo excited to share this fabulous wedding with you today. For one thing it proves that there really are Happy Endings and “I just love a Happy Ending!” It is close to home, even featuring the congregation where I had my Bat Mitzvah. Being right here in my “shetel” I have worked with (and may have recommended) all the creative partners (AKA vendors) who put this fun casino theme reception together. I’m kevelling over my former intern’s work who was actually the lead planner and took over my events’ business when I decided to make MJW my full time job. (Special shout-out to LoveJoy Events!)
As if all that weren’t enough I have a long time personal relationship with Bride Sydelle (Syd as we fondly call her). She’s a family friend and all of us in the Schwartz family could not be happier that after losing her first husband she was able to find love a second time. Trust me when I tell you, she was as giddy about her wedding as any first time bride and had just as much planning it as if she was a millennial getting married.
Sydelle and Chuck met while volunteering as ushers at the Long Performing Arts Center in downtown Austin, Texas. He is a retired military officer and engineer hailing from Brooklyn, NY. She is a librarian who spent her life in Texas, loving all things western. Both widowed, they fell madly in love and decided to get hitched. They had a marvelous Jewish ceremony at their synagogue to the delight of their rabbi and community, followed by a night of casino games, dinner and dancing.
