Classic Jewish Blue & White Tent Wedding

The Modern Jewish Wedding Details

Rachel and Daniel met at an occasion where good things often happen – a Shabbat dinner. It was a hot summer night in Boston and they met friends at Vilna Shul, at a historic synagogue in Beacon Hill. The group went out for drinks afterword and as the bride said, “the rest was history!”

When it came to wedding planning, the couple wanted a fairly traditional Jewish wedding with a classic New England feel. A crisp blue and white color theme lent itself perfectly to that goal. From the bridesmaids’ bright blue off-the-shoulder dresses to a timeless white-draped tent and chuppah, the affair was tailored to perfection.

The bride stunned in Anna Maier Couture with a Pinterest-worthy lace cut-out in the back and peep-toe Jimmy Choo heels. The mother-of-the-bride donned a floor-length navy blue gown, playing on the color scheme and the lace on her daughter’s dress without overwhelming. The groom and his party sported classic tuxes with polished details like silver straight ties and custom kippot.

The groom’s Rabbi led a traditional Conservative Jewish ceremony, incorporating traditions like the sharing of wine, the ring ceremony and of course a good glass stomping at the end. He even incorporated a few quotes from the groom’s Bar Mitzvah speech, an impressive touch. The bride and groom were all smiles underneath a glowy chuppah adorned with classic ivory roses and pops of blue, designed by Dragonfly Event.

After the outdoor ceremony, guest moved inside to enjoy the the first dance and dinner. The ballroom was sprinkled with tasteful details like white and blue flower arrangements with coordinating blue floral place cards, signage and mini jars of maple syrup for wedding favors. The Riverview created a timeless lace-inspired wedding cake topped with the bride and groom’s initials.

The reception was full of dancing and “lots of laughs,” especially during the lively Hora, where they bride and groom were lifted in chairs to the tune of Hava Negilah. True to the theme, the couple held a blue napkin between them while trying to hold on tight.
