Cheryl & Shaul were married along a calm St. John’s on a beautiful Sunday afternoon surrounded by friends and family from all over the United States. Their love story began while traveling in Israel, where they connected spiritually and as friends.
Their love and kindness for each other was obvious and carried over on to everyone around them, making the day all the more enjoyable.
The Jewish wedding traditions included the Groom’s Tisch, a Kabbalat Panim for Cheryl and a public Bedekken. Cheryl also chose to dress modestly. The wedding was catered by a Kosher caterer.
But, just because a wedding is traditional doesn’t mean it can’t have Modern touches! As we’re always saying the essence of any Modern Jewish Wedding are the personal details. This wedding is 100% full of personal details. Cheryl showed her creative side by putting many of her own touches on the wedding decorations and food. The backyard was filled with hanging mason jars, floating candles, and flowers complimenting the bright color palette of the wedding. Beyond the self made decorations, she also created homemade marmalade for wedding favors and a delicious FRESH lavender lemonade.
And, I’m pretty sure having a dog walk down the aisle classifies as a Modern Jewish Wedding detail too.
At the reception, in keeping with the tradition to entertain the bride and groom all night long there was live entertainment in the form of a belly dancer. Now, that’s a Modern Jewish Wedding Detail we hope to see more.
Mazel Tov Cheryl & Shaul!
