It’s another inspiration from our series of most inspiring Jewish Wedding Films. It’s another #TBT to the era of Fanny Brice and speakeasys with #7: Funny Girl!
Without further delay, here is our inspiration board for an updated Modern Jewish Wedding inspired by the Jewish Wedding Film, “Funny Girl.”
Rather than a literal interpretation of the movie we went for a Broadway theme. Broadway was home to Funny Girl Fanny Brice, the subject of the movie.
We think our Ketubah choice is a stroke of genius: A rose ketubah as an homage to the song, “Second Hand Rose” a scene stealer when Barbara Streisand belts out the tune. The food is inspired from Wolfgang Puck’s annual Governer’s Ball following the Academy Awards! Elegant finger foods. The centerpieces, tables and lighting are based on the supper clubs of New York–where Fanny Brice and husband gambler Nicky Arnstein might have made an appearance. We were even able to use inspiration from our favorite Engage! Conference.
We love it! What do you think? Would you have a “Funny Girl” wedding?
