We love being an editorial partner with Two Bright Lights; because of them we can feature unique weddings like this multicultural fiesta held at the Wilson Harding Golf Course, sent from Shari from Sonrisa Photography.
Bunnies and butterflies set the tone for Debbie and Sergio’s day, a blend of pink and chocolate and of cultures and religions. Her Jewish upbringing was juxtaposed with Sergio’s Mexican heritage in the ceremony and in the Mariachi’s rousing rendition of Hava Negila, while one of them is wearing a tallit!
Debbie, an artist, made bunny table cards from her oh-so-cute drawings of exotic rabbit breeds — Debbie loves bunnies, she has several and participates in a bay area rabbit rescue. On a budget, this was an all hands on deck production. Debbie and her brides maids (and her one man too) were busy for months folding paper to make the kusudamas (made out of multiple identical origami shapes glued together) that adorned aisle and tables. Both are graduates of UC Berkeley, Sergio just finished his doctorate in Biology and Debbie her BA in Art with a minor in Spanish.
If you jump right over to the full gallery you will see the couple under the chuppah lighting a unity candle!
