Lina & Steve met at a Halloween party. The two went on their first date shortly after and realized their birthdays are just one day apart. When Steve proposed he instructed Lina to meet him at the Boston Common with Edgar, the couple’s dog. Lina said it was perfect. She shared all the details of their Modern Jewish Wedding with us.
Stephen & I both wanted a wedding on the ocean. I always wanted to have a destination wedding but we couldn’t do that because of elderly family members. As soon as we saw Oceanview of Natant, we knew it was the perfect place. It felt like we could have the destination wedding we wanted there. My color palette included blue, pink and white. I wanted the bridesmaids wearing blue to blend in a little with the ocean. I also requested blue orchids. I think they are the prettiest flower. I wanted a romantic wedding with roses and orchids. My dress reminded me of a sea of white roses. It was not at all what I expected to wear. It was a Maggie Sottero gown with the bottom flowing with big white roses. I couldn’t say no to that dress.
We made our own place cards that we put into a plastic photo booth frame. We wanted to guide our guests to the photo booth so that they could have a fun memory for themselves and for us as well. We also did the aisle flowers for the ceremony ourselves. It was extremely memorable having sparklers at the end of the night and dancing right on the beach for our last dance. My favorite moment was dancing the Hora with all of our wedding guests. It was quite the experience being lifted up in the chairs, especially for Steve.
My bouquet included white roses and blue orchids to match my dress. The bridesmaids wore blue and had pink rose bouquets to make it pop. The chuppah had orchids on both sides and the tables inside had a mix of roses, blue orchids and hydrangea. The table center pieces also had tea candles hanging and really added some sparkle to the room. Our cake had orchids to match our wedding colors.
Do not stress! It’s a truly amazing day, but it all goes by in a flash. And of course- eat!”
