No, it’s not a Jewish Holiday…but,

Happy Valentine’s Day from The Modern Jewish Wedding

OK, before you get upset and shout at your screen, “It’s just a hallmark holiday!” Or,”The holiday starts with a “St.” and Jewish preschools don’t even allow the exchange of silly Valentines’ cards”  Trust me, I know.  I KNOW!

I am the originator of the Anti-Valentine’s Day Party!  We literally had a party and we all wore black. The two biggest marital spats Mr. MJW & I have were both on February 14, AKA, St. Valentine’s Day!

So, why would today’s post be an homage to the day?

happily ever after

For the same reason Carrie dedicated her first book to Charlotte!  For all of us who still believe in Happily Ever After! For all the single gals who will be their own best friend today & for those who still believe in the magic of February 14!

Plus, I’m a sucker for anything that celebrates flowers, cupcakes, chocolate and popcorn!

Cliche or not, Valentine’s Day is still the day of the year with the most engagements!

If you are expecting a little bling this weekend (or if it comes your way without expectation), we hope you’ll share your story with us in the comments below (or email us directly at editor@themodernjewishwedding.com). Your story could end up in our book coming out later this year.
