Aaron and Elisha met and fell in love while they were both students at Ohio University. They dated for almost 7 years before he proposed at the end of a dock in Annapolis, MD on on Elisha’s 25th birthday.
After moving around a few times after college, the couple settled down in Raleigh, NC. As soon as they were engaged they knew that their ceremony would be in Raleigh, in October with their friends and family and would feature many Jewish wedding traditions.
Before the ceremony, Elisha and Aaron signed a beautiful hand painted ketubah that they picked out together.
They were married beneath a chuppah that was built by Elisha’s father using her uncle’s tallis as the covering. For the Hakafah, both Elisha and Aaron completed circuits around one another. During the ceremony Elisha and Aaron recited the traditional prayers and read vows that they wrote together before Aaron stepped on the glass to rousing cheers from their guests.
The wedding party made their entrances to “Don’t Stop me Now” by Queen and then they kicked off a night of dancing and celebration with the hora!
During the reception guests enjoyed an amazingly delicious southern inspired meal paired with the couples favorite seasonal beer, Harvest Time from Big Boss Brewing Company. After dinner there was more dancing, time for guests to strike a pose in the photo booth, toasts from family and friends and a pumpkin spice cake topped with Lego figurines of the newly weds.
At the end of the evening guests sent the happy couple off with well wishes and a sparkler send-off.
