Last year at this time we told you Gatsby Weddings were going to be a trend for 2013. As we head into the end of the year, we can safely say, “We told you so!”
But, Bride Marlo, studied dramatic literature, theater and dance at Princeton and is the Founder and Artistic Director of her own event production company, Eating Their Words, took Gatsby up a notch. Through her company she marries the talents of well known playwrights, innovative chefs and Broadway actors to create one of a kind shows that are a feast for all of your senses.
All of which is completely evident in her wedding–which has the artistic feel of a theatrical production.
Like all great productions, Marlo and Ted made sure the venue would serve to set the stage for what was to come on the inside. Getting married right in the center of Manhattan with a Penthouse view of 5th Avenue, it doesn’t get much more decadent than that.
Marlo’s costume (AKA her wedding dress) was the perfect style for a Gatsby era wedding and once it was time for the reception it was transformed to add a little black to the black and white color palette.
The selection of City Sweets to design the art deco wedding cake was part of the production too. After all, City Sweets was the baker of choice for Alec Baldwin’s nuptials.
The all black and white photos complete the picture (Pun Intended)!
