Kayla & Michael really wanted a barn wedding to match their love of country music, but since their friends and families all live in NYC, they settled on a WWII warehouse on the waterfront in Brooklyn. Raw feeling, with exposed brick and heavy wooden beams, the space was both industrial, yet cozy, despite its massive size.
We blended the industrial feel of the warehouse with country western by doing an upscale rustic look on the tables and around the large room as well as using old paint ladders and wooden barrels as props. Scattered around the hall were pretty wooden signs with messages for the guests. For an elegant pop of AMAZING we added a 20 foot long, 12 foot high lighted curtain backdrop where the bride and groom sat during dinner.
For the first course, they chose a pretty poached pear salad followed by a bountiful buffet. The dessert was upstairs with refreshing sorbets and an upscale chic popcorn bar,” said Davii the couple’s wedding planner.
These two were ahead of their time using the Pantone Color of the Year for 2017, Greenery, in their wedding color palette. We especially love Kayla’s blinged out green shoes. Another trendy choice–their naked cake.
While the two were trendsetters with their decor choices, their ceremony choices were very traditional. Kayla’s parents even walked down the aisle holding candles–a traditional said to date back to the times of the Temple in Jerusalem.
We approve of all their choices and wish them a hearty–Mazel Tov!
