Today’s featured bride and groom live in Austin, Texas and wanted an elegant, inclusive ceremony just outside the city. As a Texas gal myself, I love finding Texas hill country weddings that are intimate and stylish. Ashley and Bobby’s celebration is just that. You would never know that their ceremony got moved to a covered patio on account of rain!
Not to be discouraged, the couple ventured out into open fields for portraits by photographer Christina Carroll. Ashley donned a strapless lace gown with a sweetheart neckline from Matthew Christopher. (Side note – if you’re not familiar with this designer, he’s definitely one to add to your wedding dress shopping list). The bridesmaids added a pop of color in floor-length coral chiffon dresses, while the groom and groomsmen chose crisp black and white tuxedos.
The couple wanted to weave the groom’s Hispanic heritage in with Jewish traditions, so their Rabbi helped customize a modern wedding ceremony and add in passages in Spanish. In the bride’s words, “We wanted to create an experience that was welcoming to everyone.”
For the ketubah signing, they invited family members and the wedding party to witness the signing of the marriage document. Clusters of coral, light pink and white flowers adorned the dreamy draped chuppah where the bride met her groom soon after.
The reception decor took on a glamorous feel with a hint of shabby chic. Roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas were perfectly puffy and romantic set atop tables and vintage wine barrels. For cocktail hour, soft seating areas welcomed guests with couches and specialty pillows. Hints of rose gold sequins sparkled on bar carts and runners for the the dinner tables.
For dessert, guests enjoyed bite-sized key lime shooters, lemon tarts, chocolate truffles and pastel macarons in addition to a more traditional, lace-inspired wedding cake. Friends and family raised the smiling couple up in chairs for the Hora before sending them off with sparklers into the sweet Texas night.
P.S. An extra Mazel Tov to the happy couple who welcomed a baby boy this spring!
