True story: On their first date in New York City, Jake knew within the first FIVE MINUTES that he wanted to marry Jess. He was certain he’d found his soul mate, and sure enough, his gut instinct was spot on. Jess and Jake quickly realized their paths had previously crossed as children playing on the same beach in a small lakeside community where both their grandparents owned summer homes and the rest, as they say, is history.
Their wedding was held at a country estate in Lenox, Massachusetts which was previously the home of American author, Edith Wharton. The couple wholeheartedly embraced Jewish wedding tradition, beginning with the signing of the ketubah. In the words of the photographer, Tricia McCormack:
I’ll never forget being in the room when they signed the ketubah and the rabbi had both Jess and Jake meet separately with their future in-laws. It was so amazing to see them all hold each other and accept one another as family. It one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen at a wedding.
The ceremony under the chuppah was held in the property’s outdoor garden on the perfect summer day. Jess and Jake exchanged vows in front of their dearest loved one and then welcomed guests to a stunning tented reception.
Needless to say, from their first date to their wedding celebration, these soul mates got their happily ever after.
