It’s hard not to smile about Adam and Madeline’s vibrant wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas. Aside from the couple being totally beautiful (can we talk about the bride’s Rapunzel-esque hair?), they embraced bright color in the best kind of way. The result is fun, festive and anything but vanilla.
In the bride’s words, “Bright colors make us happy and we wanted to share that happiness with guests.” This DIY goddess scoured stores like World Market for the unique lanterns and décor and found an artist to create the multi-color tree design that popped up on the invitation and ketubah and inspired a guest book where each guest stamped their finger to create the leaves on the tree.
The bride and groom met through mutual friends at Adam’s 30th birthday party. Madeline met his entire family that first day, even his sweet Jewish mother! A week later she was Adam’s girlfriend and four months later they were engaged. Now that’s decisiveness!
That same decisive, bold nature came in handy when planning the wedding. Adam’s favorite color is purple and Madeline knew she wanted bright, different colored bridesmaid dresses. They also chose to embrace Jewish traditions that felt most meaningful to them, such as circling the groom with only the sound of the Rabbi’s voice singing acoustic in the background.
The reception overflowed with orange, fuchsia, turquoise and gold as guests entered a room set with bright linens, chair ties and floral arrangements that appear to be bursting with happiness. Guests were not deprived of sweets, either, and enjoyed a multi-tier (and multi-color) wedding cake, cupcakes and mini take-home treats. In the end it was a celebration of color, creativity and a whole lot of love.
P.S. A very special extra Mazel Tov to the couple on their first wedding anniversary AND the expected arrival of their first Modern Jewish baby this month!
